Feedback and Figures: 'Creativity Offers Us a New Formula for Life' 2.0 @ The Hive

We've wrapped up 'Creativity Offers Us a New Formula for Life' 2.0 at The Hive, which ran from May 22nd to Friday, June 14th, 2024. The event was a huge success, with 34,396 visitors coming through the doors. The four VR galleries will remain accessible into 2025, so there's still plenty of time to experience the incredible work on display.

Prior to the exhibition, Gee Cartmell, the Events Coordinator at The Hive, remarked “The Hive is excited to be working alongside the RSA to bring the ASN’s showcase of the importance of creativity in our lives to Worcester. As a library committed to community and creativity, we look forward to connecting with an organisation rooted in curiosity, courage and working collectively.”

The opening event, hosted by ASN, drew local gallery owners, contributing artists, RSA representatives, and many others. Attendees not only explored the gallery but also enjoyed a live Soundscape.

To engage the younger audience, ASN developed children's activity sheets inspired by the exhibited works. These were available in the Children's Library, enhancing the experience for young visitors.

The Hive's audio guide, hosted on SoundCloud, extended the exhibition's reach beyond its physical space, allowing for a more immersive and informative experience both during and after the event.

Julie and Zoe are already working on a proposal to bring the exhibition to Las Vegas—stay tuned for more updates on that!

Exhibition feedback

"Working with the ASN and RSA encouraged us to think outside the box and consider a new approach to exhibitions. Libraries are so important as cultural hubs and The Hive strives to champion creativity as often as possible, so it was amazing to host the RSA’s first exhibition outside London. The team at The Hive are proud to have showcased artists from across the world. One member of the library team said “I found this exhibition really stimulating and thought-provoking”, while another said, “It’s really nice to see such a mix of artwork on display.

Gee Cartmell, Events Coordinator The Hive

"Creativity Offers Us A New Formula For Life 2.0 was a fantastic and bold event that showcased the impact of creativity in everyday life, and put creative work front and centre in a highly accessible public space. The exhibition is a testament to what can be achieved through collaboration, with the fantastic support of the team at The Hive, and the vast array of contributors from around the globe who made this event possible. It was a real pleasure to be able to support this project, and to bring the work outside of London to an area with less creative opportunity, but huge potential to grow. I am excited to see where the exhibition goes next and to continue to support the ASN in their work."
